Hi, I'm Ava
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in New York, United States.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn't in the long-range plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, higher expectations. Everyday tasks felt more tricky than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning by doing. Gradually, routines formed. We found places that worked for us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built PebblePathLab
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What’s missing is an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in United States.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in United States
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site is not:
- Not a tourism board resource
- Paid review platform
- A standard travel blog
Moving Forward
Our time in United States continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in New York or anywhere in United States, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Ava
